Our Education Courses have specific client focus.
Each class is uniquely designed to meet the needs of the clients attending.
At intake we gather background information on the client and they are given educational materials on their drug of choice.
Each class focuses on education on the attending client's drug of choice, including but not limited to: drug facts, effects on body/mind, replaceable coping skills one could apply instead of using the drug, tools to avoid recidivism.
Clients who are placed into the 16 and 24 hour classes are also given worksheets on tools for change through the stages for change model but all clients are presented with the stages of change model in class.
Additionally clients who are placed into the 16 and 24 hour classes will be given a worksheet on goals designed by Sobriety First using evidenced based practices and clients meet individually with an alcohol and drug counselor to review and adjust their goals as needed.
Clients who are placed in the 24 hour class are also given an evidenced based workbook on Abuse VS Addiction to help them determine what path they are on.
Our domestic violence classes meet the state statues, meaning they satisfy legal requirements for those court ordered. This is a 24 lesson plan class that meets once a week to reduce the risk of future domestic issues. We meet with you individually for the Domestic Violence Assessments.
We offer Anger Management assessments, an 8 hour Anger Management Class as well as individual meetings for those with greater concerns.
